The nonprofit, faith-based organization, Drive For Water is once again raising money for developing countries through golf tournaments, including the 2014 Golf Tournament to be held on Friday, September 12, 2014 at Monarch Beach Golf Links starting at 11am and ending with cocktails and appetizers at 4:30pm which will then be followed by an auction, awards and dinner.
Golfers and everyone who is interested in making a difference in the lives of those impacted by contaminated water can register for the event that day, from 10am until 11am. Proceeds from the tournament are to benefit the independent, nonprofit corporation called NO Thirsty Child. Contaminated water is the #1 cause for death in developing countries. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) approximately 801,000 kids age 5 years or younger die each year from diarrhea resulting from unsafe drinking water, lack of access to sanitation or inadequate availability of water for basic needs including hygiene.
Golfers typically view water on a course as a hazard but during the tournament they will come to see it as something people in developing countries hope for, so they can drive away disease, and improve the lives of young children. Participants in the tournament located in Dana Point, CA will enjoy this exceptional golf resort for its beautiful oceanfront view, its challenging hole presentation and its world-renowned recognition for being one of the top 10 golf resorts in Southern California, top ten resort courses in North America and for having one of the best golf shops. Golfers can participate in one of several sponsorship opportunities, including the following donation levels or they can provide a donation only without participating in golf rounds.
Hole in One – $15,000 includes (2) foursomes and (8) tickets to the awards and dinner celebration. Donation level benefits the construction of deep water well.
Double Eagle – $7,000 includes (1) foursome and (4) tickets to the awards and dinner celebration. Donation level provides Rain Harvester plus filters.
Eagle – $4,000 includes (1) foursome and (4) tickets to the awards and dinner celebration. Donation level can benefit 25 families in developing countries.
Birdie – $1,200 includes (1) Hole Sponsor to promote a product, and includes the company logo on the hole, t-shirt, website and Facebook page. Donation level benefits water education and test kits.

With views of the majestic Pacific Ocean as a backdrop, 18 holes of golf were played on beautifully manicured links when we held our second annual charitable golf event at Pelican Hill Golf and Resort August 23rd. Our nonprofit faith-based organization raised more than $80,000 for people around the world lacking the basic necessity of clean water.
The 2012 Drive for Water Charitable Golf Event brought together professional athletes legendary musicians and executives from many of the top companies in the United States to help bring awareness to impoverished areas of the world.
Every day billions of people around the world lack the basic necessities we take for granted, such as clean water for drinking and eating, the ability to properly clean themselves and education. By hosting one day charity golf events, with like-minded business and community leaders, the funds we raise help entire villages and towns live healthier lifestyles. It’s truly inspiring to see the commitment and devotion of our sponsors, staff and guests to help people who they’ve never met!
To you, water is a Hazard. To others, water is life changing.
