Water is vital to life, yet billions throughout the world go without clean drinking water every day. Millions die each year due to disease caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation, including hundreds of thousands of children. But on Sept. 14, 2017, local residents can do their part to help those affected by this global water crisis at the annual “Drive for Water” golf tournament, held once again at Pelican Beach Golf Resort.
The proceeds from this yearly fundraiser, hosted by PEACEwater: No Thirsty Child!, will benefit H2❤, an organization focused on helping developing countries provide clean water for their residents. Proceeds will also benefit Operation Homefront San Diego, an organization that helps provide assistance and support programs for military families, and Crittenton, a nonprofit child welfare and behavioral health agency working to help children and families affected by abuse and neglect.
“Drive for Water” will be held at the breathtaking Pelican Beach Golf Resort near Newport Beach. This exquisite course, born from the vision of renowned designer Tom Fazio, boasts lush landscaping and oceanfront views surrounding every hole. It is the perfect setting where caring individuals can enjoy a spectacular golf event and help those in need.
